ROB BUCK IS DEAD

A FAN / FRIEND PAGE

(pictured with Hillary Clinton)

In April 2000, Rob came over to Johnny Satan's (John Stratton--Treebirds) house in Westfield, New York, and jammed with Johnny and a drummer and Michael Dean (cat / Jill the Witch), who was home visiting family. Rob looked skinny and yellow, but he sure played pretty. We taped it and and talked about putting it on the 'net. Rob died in December 2000, of liver failure.

I wish I'd gotten it up in time for Rob to get to hear it. Sorry it took so long to get around to it, but here it is, kiddies. IT'S O.K. TO NAPSTERIZE IT. THIS MUSIC IS FREE.

DOWNLOAd these 2 songs here::

1. Armless Children (check out at the end, Rob sez..."I always bleed when I play with you.")

2. speedbump bitch (At end, Rob says "mommieeeee". He's singing a cat song, Smile and Pose.*

Johnny sez something about "faking jazz" and as the tape cuts off, Rob sez--"I can fake anything, even orgasm.")

*In the 1980s, John Lombardo from the Maniacs said, 'The last thing I would want to do is go to a bar and listen to Michael Dean scream about his mother."

stuff for Rob:

Poem by Hafiz:

What happens when your soul Begins to awaken Your eyes And your heart And the
cells of your body To the great Journey of Love?
First there is wonderful laughter And probably precious tear.
And a hundred sweet promises And those heroic vows No one can ever keep.
But still God is delighted and amused You once tried to be a saint.
What happens when your soul Begins to awake in this world
To our deep need to love And serve the Friend?

O the Beloved Will send you One of His wonderful, wild companions ~ Like
Hafiz.

a beautiful soul

by Skip Lunch -- Friday, 22 December 2000, at 10:45 a.m.

A wonderful man and kindred spirit, Robert Buck. Having touched our lives, his
spirit will certainly live forever in our hearts and minds. The celestial
guitar sounds that Rob created were a pure expression of his beautiful
soul.. His was the song of the heart. Our lives are only richer having been
graced by the presence of this truly extraordinary and loving man.

We knew Rob, and he was nifty. I used to see 10,000 Maniacs in clubs in college. Probably saw them 75 times. Made me increase my resolve to be a professional musician.

Respectfully, Michael dean. e-mail

1/13/01 ps....I was just listening to all these rob songs again...I was totally in the moment...I thought "next time I'm in Westfield, we should practice once more with the same people and do a little gig...." Doh! Oh yea, Rob's dead. I guess the music was so alive I forgot for a minute. --md.
